Fraggle Rock
So, Los Angeles. I don't know why I don't feel like updating about L.A., I think maybe it's just that there's too much to say about the trip and I've already told all my 'good' stories to everyone. It was fantastic though, regardless. I went to Rony's art show, swam at Huntington Beach with Lauren, lived in Eagle Rock, had a fancy dinner, was checked for weapons at the USC Medical Center, met a ton of people, visited the American Apparel HQ, drove to Joshua Tree and finally saw the Mojave Desert (and picked up a pair of $4 cowboy boots!), discovered the Salton Sea - which blew my mind, I have a ton of photos from this place but none of them have been developed yet (seriously read the wiki on it, it's crazy!), I stayed up until 4:30am every night and tried to figure out my future, listened to records with Rony, Saw Gino & his duck & chicken and finally, finally made it back to Vancouver..

Lauren picked me up from the airport Wednesday night and we drove straight to the Royal Elastics store in Santa Monica, where Rony's show was going to be the next night. We ended up staying really late and then drove back to Huntington Beach to stay at Rony's dads house. (aka: drinking way too much wine with Lauren while Rony photoshopped the rest of the night)

Rony really did stay up all night so Lauren & I stole the bikes from the garage and rode to a cute little restaurant close to the beach in the morning. We spent the rest of the afternoon frantically hanging photos with Rony (and driving & driving & driving & driving) and then everyone showed up for the show..

.. that's me with the balaclava. hah.

Lauren had to work Friday morning and Rony was in no shape to get up early, so I followed her to the American Apparel Factory downtown around noon.. (I went looking for

The plan for after AA was to buy our matching shirts and head to .. uh.. I forget what it was called, but Rony & Lauren had season passes to it. ROLLER COASTERS! The unfortunate thing was, Lauren left her wallet in Santa Moncia the night before and we didn't have enough time to go & go it. Instead we had a nice little lunch, visited Ronys mom at the hospital and then ate some more.. we crashed early so we could get up in the morning and drive to Joshua Tree ♥ !

I can't possibly say enough about the town of Joshua Tree, OR the park. I don't think I've ever been so, just.. amazed. First of all, and I'm so sad I didn't get a picture, but the CACTUS'S were GIANT!!! HUGE!! The thrift stores were insane, I bought so much stuff for under $20, the locals were so friendly.. it was just really great. The park itself was massive, I think the three of us spent at least five hours wandering around and taking pictures before we drove through it and out the other side on our way to the Salton Sea..

We drove home, showered, changed and actually made it out Saturday night. We went to Hang the DJ's (more pictures) in Echo Park which ended up being too crazy to just hang out (and we weren't drunk enough to dance) so after not too long we walked down the block to this adorable dive bar (if that works) to sit & decompress and chat..

The journey home was one of the most entertaining plane rides I've ever been on thanks to the two lovely ladies I ended up sitting with. Rony & Lauren & I didn't do much before I caught my flight - we went to Gino's place, then got a HUGE Mexican breakfast and then it was off to LAX.. :(

Rony's house.

So that concludes my trip to LA that I "didn't feel like writing about".. hah. I'm not sure I've ever liked a place as much as I like Vancouver before, LA has completely stolen my heart. ♥
